Quick Circulation

Use Quick Circulation to check out or check in assets by selecting which circulation option to use, scanning a user barcode, and then scanning the asset(s). Without resetting the page, you can scan another user’s barcode to easily continue circulating assets.

To access the Quick Circulation page, you need the Edit Assigned User asset permission.

To use Quick Circulation:

  1. Select Assets > Quick Circulation. The Quick Circulation page appears.

  2. Select either Check Out or Check In.
  3. Do one of the following:
      If ...Then...
      Checking out assets
      • To change the Check-Out Date, type the new date in the field or use the calendar icon to select the date.
      • To enter a Due Date, either type the date in the field or use the calendar icon to select the date.

        Note: Based on the General Settings for assets, this field may be required. If it is, a red exclamation point appears next to the field.

      Checking in assetsEnsure the Return Date is correct; otherwise, type the date in the field or use the calendar icon to select the date.
  4. Include any relevant Notes about the circulation transaction.
  5. To Send Confirmation Email or Include Component Assets, select the checkboxes.
  6. If checking out, scan or type the user's barcode.
  7. Scan or type the asset name or barcode.

    Note: A message may appear letting you know you cannot check out an asset, this could be because the asset has a status such as In Use or Available for Parts.

  8. If you have a carriage return setting for your scanner, the scan is done automatically. Otherwise, click Scan.
  9. If checking in, to create a charge, click Add Charge. The Add Charge for Checked In Assets page appears.

    1. Select a Charge Type from the drop-down.
    2. Enter the Full Charge Amount, Waive Amount, and/or Payment Amount.
    3. Add Notes.
    4. Click Save.
  10. To continue checking out or check in to a new user – using the same dates, notes, and options – scan the user's barcode, and then the asset(s).
