Integrate with OneRoster student information system

OneRoster is a paid service that lets you schedule an automatic import of student, teacher, and class data.

To access OneRoster, select Settings > Integrations > OneRoster Integration.

Connection tab

OneRoster integration, Connection tab.

This tab lets you establish a connection to OneRoster.

To complete the Connection tab:

  1. Fill in the following fields:
    • Base URL
    • Token URL
    • API Key
    • API Secret
  2. To test the connection, click Test.
  3. To save the settings, click Save.
  4. To go to the next tab, click Next.

Field Mapping tab

This tab shows OneRoster fields and what fields they will map to.

Location Mapping

OneRoster integration Location Mapping tab.

This tab lets you see OneRoster sites, and link them to buildings.

To complete the Location Mapping tab:

  1. To add buildings, click Configure Location.
  2. To map a building, click Edit icon..
  3. From the Select Building drop-down, select the associated building.
  4. Do this for each building.
  5. Click Next.

Sync Data tab

This tab lets you associate roles.

  1. To add a role, click +Add Role. A pop-up appears.

  2. From the OneRoster Role drop-down, select Administrator, Teacher, or Student.
  3. From the Roles drop-down, select the associated role(s).
  4. To associate a role to a request type, use the Request Types drop-down.
  5. If this role should be Active, ensure the checkbox is selected.
  6. Click Save.
  7. To sync data right away, click Sync Data icon.. Otherwise, the data will sync every 24 hours.

During the nightly OneRoster sync, students are inactivated in IT Asset Manager if they are marked inactive or 'to be deleted' in the student information system (SIS).

Note: When a user becomes inactive, you can delete them.
